Fair in medieval Sibenik this year will be held from 07th to 09th September. Sibenik streets and squares, through three-day program will bring to life the atmosphere of the former town fairs and present a rich cultural and historical heritage of native oldest Croatian town on the Adriatic coast.
The fair will start on Friday, the 7th of September at 10:00 AM with placing stands. At 18:00 hours starts the parade of Sibenik folk music along with participants on the main square "Poljana". The procession moves to the Cathedral of St. James in 19:00, followed by the grand opening of the Medieval Fair at 21:00 pm with "naval battle" and fanfaras in front of City Hall. The first day will end with a fiery performance at 22:00.
The second day, 08 September, starts at 10:00. Cannon fire was announced at noon, while juggling a half-hour later. A knights fight in front of City Hall is at 16:00. Dancing with the flags will start at 17:00 am, while the Children´s tournament guard in accuracy with a crossbow is at 18:30 on the coast near the cannons. Showing the siege and defense of the city, with the celebration of the battle won firing cannon from the top of the castle of St. Michael, starts at 20:00. Second day, as the first, will end with a fiery performance at 21:30.
On Sunday, 09 September fair activities begin at 10:00 am, at 11:00 followed by the procession through the city streets and lanes, and juggling, dancing with flags and firing from cannons. From 14:00 hours follows the closure of VIII. Fair in medieval Sibenik.
